Australian Taylor Swift Fans Warn American Fans to Stay Home for “Eras” Tour

Australian Taylor Swift Fans Warn American Fans to Stay Home for "Eras" Tour

Australian Taylor Swift fans are gearing up for the singer’s highly anticipated “Eras” tour, but some are warning American fans to stay home.

The tour will see Swift perform two shows in Melbourne and three shows in Sydney. Pre-sale tickets and VIP packages for Frontier Touring members will go on sale today at 10am AEDT for Sydney shows and 2pm AEDT for Melbourne shows.

In the lead-up to the pre-sale, some Australian fans have taken to social media to warn American fans not to try and buy tickets.

“If you’re American, stay in your own country,” said Sydney TikTok user Yana. “You had 50 shows, 50. Australia has five. That doesn’t even just cover Australia, that covers New Zealand – in two states, that’s it.”

Yana and other Australian fans are concerned that there won’t be enough tickets to go around for local fans if American fans start buying them up.

“There are not even going to be enough tickets to go around for the diehard Swifties, and you want to come here?” said Yana. “We’re really chill until you piss us off. Don’t get on a plane, we’ll meet you at the gate. You’re not ready for that, trust me.”

Other Australian fans have agreed, with some even calling for restrictions on ticket sales so that only Australian residents can purchase them.

“Eras” is Swift’s first tour in five years and, when tickets went on sale in the US last year, up to 14 million Americans attempted to buy pre-sale tickets – with only 1.5 million up for grabs.

This means that there are millions of American fans who would have missed out seeing Swift in their own country, but Australian fans are adamant that this does not give them the right to try and snag tickets here.

“You cannot expect people to be nice to you if we have told you don’t come,” said TikTok user Adele. “Australians are really pleasant, funny, laid back – you are probably not ready for what Australians are like when they’re pissed off.”

For fans that don’t manage to snag tickets today, there will be another opportunity when general ticket sales go live on June 30.
