Riley Keough Opens Up About Her Relationship With Her Grandmother Priscilla Presley

Riley Keough, the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley and granddaughter of Priscilla Presley, has opened up about her relationship with her grandmother in a new interview with Vanity Fair.

Keough, 34, was named the sole trustee of her mother’s estate and the new owner of Graceland following Lisa Marie’s death in January. This decision sparked a contentious battle with Priscilla, who had been co-trustee of the estate until Lisa Marie’s death.

In the interview, Keough says that things between her and Priscilla are still “shaken up” after the legal battle, but that she hopes they can eventually mend their relationship.

“There was a bit of upheaval, but now everything’s going to be how it was,” Keough says. “Anything that would suggest otherwise in the press makes me sad because, at the end of the day, all she wants is to love and protect Graceland and the Presley family and the legacy.”

Keough also talked about the pain of losing her mother and brother, Benjamin, who died by suicide in 2020.

“When I lost my brother, there was no road map whatsoever, and it was a lot of big emotions that I didn’t know what to do with,” Keough says. “When I lost my mom, I was familiar with the process a little bit more, and I found working to be really helpful.”

Keough says she is currently undergoing holistic treatment for Lyme disease in Switzerland as she raises her daughter, Tupelo Storm Smith-Petersen, whom she secretly welcomed with husband Ben Smith-Petersen via surrogate in August 2022.

“I’m trying to find a way to be happy and healthy and to raise my daughter in a way that I think is good,” Keough says. “I’m just trying to figure it out.”

It is clear that Keough is still grieving the loss of her mother and brother, but she is determined to move forward and create a happy and healthy life for herself and her daughter.
