Jada Pinkett Smith Shares Update on Alopecia Battle, Hair Starting to Grow Back

Jada Pinkett Smith has shared an update on her battle with alopecia, revealing that her hair is starting to grow back.

The actress took to Instagram on Monday to share two selfies with her followers, one of which showed her with a shaved head and the other with a short blonde hairdo.

“This here hair is act’n like it’s try’n a make a come back,” she captioned the post. “Still have some trouble spots but — we’ll see✨.”

Pinkett Smith was diagnosed with alopecia in 2018, and has been open about her journey with the autoimmune disorder ever since. In 2021, she shaved her head after her hair began to fall out in clumps.

The actress’s alopecia was brought to the attention of the world in 2022 when host Chris Rock made a joke about her bald head at the Oscars. The comment prompted her husband, Will Smith, to storm the stage and slap Rock.

Despite the challenges she has faced, Pinkett Smith has remained positive and determined. In her Instagram post, she expressed her gratitude for her hair’s “comeback” and said that she is “excited to see what the future holds.”

Her fans and followers were quick to offer their support, with many sharing messages of love and encouragement. “You are so strong and beautiful,” one person commented. “I’m so happy for you that your hair is starting to grow back.”

Another person wrote, “I’m so inspired by your strength and resilience. You are an inspiration to us all.”

Pinkett Smith’s story is a reminder that alopecia is a real and sometimes difficult condition to live with. However, it is also a reminder that it is possible to overcome challenges and find beauty in all forms.
