Stranger Things Stage Adaptation Teaser Trailer Released

A teaser trailer for the upcoming Stranger Things stage adaptation, The First Shadow, has been released. The trailer doesn’t give away much in terms of plot details, but it does show some clips from the early episodes of the TV series. The trailer then cuts to a mysterious red, glowing orb appearing on the stage of an otherwise empty theater. The words “The beginning of the Stranger Things story might hold the key to what comes next” then appear on the screen.

The First Shadow is set about 25 years before the events of the Netflix series. The play is set in Hawkins, Indiana, in 1959. The story follows a group of young people who are drawn into a mystery involving the town’s dark past.

The play is directed by Stephen Daldry and co-directed by Justin Martin. Casting for The First Shadow has not yet been announced. The play will begin performances at London’s Phoenix Theatre on November 17, 2023.
