Kim Kardashian's Dream Home Plans in Palm Springs Stall Again

Kim Kardashian’s plans to build a spaceship-shaped dream home in Palm Springs have hit another roadblock. Building permits for the $6 million, 42,000-acre property were not approved by the June 29th deadline, according to the US Sun.

The construction on the home was halted in 2022 when the city of La Quinta requested more details on fire safety and pool codes. Kardashian is working with Pritzker Prize–winning architect Tadao Ando on the futuristic dwelling, which she described as “concrete, gray-toned, and really zen” in a 2022 interview with Vogue.

Kardashian’s team could not immediately be reached for comment.

The land for the home is located in the Madison Club, an exclusive golf and tennis community in La Quinta, south of Los Angeles. Original plans for the property featured a pool, spa, gallery space, two elevators, and a movie theater. Kardashian’s four kids would each have a bedroom complete with private bathrooms.

Kardashian is worth $1.2 billion and last month made the Top 50 of Forbes’ “America’s Richest Self-Made Women” list.

It is unclear what the next steps are for Kardashian’s dream home. The city of La Quinta has not yet commented on the status of the project.
