Tom Cruise Hollywood Anomaly Who Defies the Odds

Tom Cruise is excited to finally release Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One after it was delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He is also looking forward to seeing other summer blockbusters in theaters, including Indiana Jones, Barbie, and Oppenheimer.

Cruise told The Hollywood Reporter that he and the team behind the film were able to get through the challenges of filming during the pandemic and are “very, very special” to be able to share the movie with an audience.

He is not stressing over ticket sales yet, but he wants the film to perform well and for all of the summer blockbusters to do well. He said that he thinks about a movie in terms of the quality and longevity, and that he invests everything in it. His job is to try to make the best film he possibly can to entertain the audience for that particular genre.

Cruise has already shared his enthusiasm for Indiana Jones, Barbie, and Oppenheimer, both opening the week after Dead Reckoning, on July 21, saying he plans to see all of those films in theaters.
