Daniel Radcliffe Not Seeking Role in New Harry Potter Series

Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry Potter in the eight-movie franchise, doesn’t think it’s time for his version of the character to return to Hogwarts.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Radcliffe said he understands that the new series on Max is trying to start fresh, and he doesn’t think the creators will want to figure out how to get him to cameo.

“I’m definitely not seeking it out in any way,” he said.

However, Radcliffe wished the actor who takes on the role next “all the luck in the world.” He said he’s excited to have “that torch passed,” but he doesn’t think he needs to be the one to physically pass it.

The new series, which is set to be a decade-long adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books, will feature a new cast and will be produced with the same “epic craft, love and care” as the original films.

Max described the series as “full of the fantastic detail, much loved characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years.” Each season will be authentic to the original books and will bring Harry Potter and his adventures to new audiences around the world.

The original films will remain at the core of the franchise and will be available to watch globally.
