“Wonder Woman” Gets Banned in the Lebanon
Lebanon has formally banned the Warner Bros. tent-pole “Wonder Woman” only hours before the movie was set to premiere in the Beirut.
The decision was created by the Lebanese government, taking problem with the fact that the movies star, Gal Gadot, is Israeli and served in the military (all Israeli voters serve in the military). Lebanon is formally at war with Israel.
The film is not expected to create abundant of a dent at the box office. The film was only scheduled to play in 15 locations. it’s following to open domestically at $87 million and is expected to do brisk business overseas.
The ban was set by a six-member Ministry of Economy committee. The movies Lebanese premiere was scheduled for this evening (a preview took place yesterday evening as planned).
